OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday visited Township and adjacent areas and gained first-hand information from the people regarding the measures taken for the eradication of dengue virus. In addition to government dispensary of Township, the Chief Minister also visited Childrens Hospital at Ferozepur Road. Upon absence of the staff at Township dispensary, the Chief Minister directed suspension of the staff including doctor and initiating action against them. The Chief Minister was informed that the staff of dispensary slipped away before its duty hours are over. The Chief Minister refused to accept the clarification of doctor who arrived on the occasion later. Addressing the people at various places in Township, the Chief Minister said that they will find him with them in the war against dengue and Inshallah we will succeed to overcome this menace. The Chief Minister assured that spray would be conducted at various places where this process has not been completed or this process is incomplete and action would be taken against the responsible persons. During his visit to Children Hospital, the Chief Minister declared the staff deputed for duty at the counter as insufficient and issued directions to meet the shortage of staff within eight hours. Meanwhile, CCPO Ahmad Raza Tahir has said that the police are out in the field to provide help to the citizens to combat dengue disease and a blood camp has been established in Police Lines Qilla Gujjar Singh to donate blood to the affected patients.
