OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A 3-day painting and photo exhibition on life of bonded laborers concluded at Alhamra Art Gallery here on Tuesday. The exhibition was organized by Bonded Labor Liberation Front Pakistan in connection with the decision by the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan on September, 18 1988, outlawed bonded labor, cancelled all existing bonded debts, and forbade lawsuits for the recovery of existing debts. The Bonded Labor (Abolition) System Act 1992 and Rules 1995 were adopted by the legislative assembly in the light of the said decision of SC. Over three hundred photographs and paintings were displayed on the occasion. It may be mentioned here that BLLF also arranged a seminar Together We Can Eliminate Bonded Labor at Alhamra. BLLF general secretary Syeda Ghulam Fatima, Mahar Safdar Ali, I A Rehman , Abdul Qadir, Daud Saqlain, Dr Hassan Nasir, Gull Rehman, Justice (R) Malik Muhammad Qayum, Ayesha Khalid, Altaf Hussain Balouch, Muhammad Waseem, Altaf Qamar were among the speakers.
