Home Minister Sindh Manzoor Wassan has rejected the reports that residence of SSP, CID Chaudhry Aslam was targeted through planted bomb and said that it was suicide attack and body parts of the suspected suicide bomber have been recovered near the site of the blast. Talking to media persons here in Karachi on Wednesday, Manzoor Wassan said that blast at SSP, CID residence was similar to the attack at Marriot Hotel, Islamabad and more than 300 kilograms of explosives were used in the blast. He said that situation in Karachi was in control and target killing has stopped due to joint search operations and raids of police and Rangers. He said that at least 24 target killers and 19 extortionists have been nabbed during last one month and huge cache of arms, explosives and other stolen and snatched valuables have been recovered during search operations and raids. Manzoor Wassan said that restoration of peace and economic activities was his top priority and he would spare no efforts in this regard. Speaking about his meeting with European Unions delegation, the provincial minister said that during the meting key issues including law and order situation in the city, relief work in rain and flood-hit areas and rehabilitation of affectees came under discussion.
