MANDI BAHAUDDIN/HAFIZABAD/SARGODHA/BAHAWALPUR/SHEIKHUPURA - On a joint call of traders' organisations a complete shutter-down strike was observed here on Thursday. All shopping centres including small general stores in various localities were closed. Rallies taken out by different organisations of students, doctors, ex-servicemen, members of civil society and human right activists to express anger against the anti-Islam movie. It was huge gathering wherein the participants chanted anti-US slogans. The participants burnt US flag and effigy of Obama. Speakers blasted on anti-Islam lobby that according to them was all out to degrade Muslims. They said it was not for the first time that a US citizen prepared anti-Islam video clip desecrating the holy Prophet Muhammad (SAWW). They said US government despite being ally in war against terrorism was keeping mum over the sacrilegious act of its citizens. They demanded proper legislation at international level to stop such nefarious acts. They also asked the Pakistani government to move OIC to take appropriate measures to stop such sacrilegious recurrence that badly hurt and degrade Muslims across the world. The lawyers also observed boycott of courts to show solidarity with traders. BAHAWALPUR, a complete strike was observed here to condemn the blasphemous movie and anti-Islam activities. All shops, business centres, markets and private offices remained closed to mark protest against the desecration of holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).The social, political, religious leaders, workers, students, traders and citizens taken out a number of protest rallies to express their anger and protest against the blasphemous act.They burnt tyres and chanted slogans against the US and Israel and demand stern action against the responsible of the nefarious attempt to hurt the Muslims all over the world. A protest meeting was also held here at the Islamia University Bahawalpur to condemn the Blasphemous film.SARGODHA, at least four different protest rallies and processions against anti-Islam film were taken out here on Thursday. The first rally was taken out by Jamiat Talba Islam from University of Sargodha which ended after reaching Khiam Chowk. The students of Commerce College and Punjab Group of Colleges also held rallies against sacrilegious movie made by Americans. The protestors were demanding that the filmmakers must be awarded exemplary punishment. SHEIKHUPURA, in a protest meeting held here at Government College for Women Bhiki which was presided over by college principal Dr Sadia Afzal, blasphemous film was highly condemned. In a unanimously passed resolution it was demanded of developed countries and international bodies of human rights to take stern action against producer of the film, so that in future no one could dare take such a blasphemous act. The meeting was attended by college professors including Nazia Akram, Ifra Naureen, Mehwish Majeed, Faiza Latief, Shazia Imran and others.NANKANA SAHIB, in the continuation of protest against sacrilegious and anti-Islam film produced in America, a condemnation meeting was held by Markazi Anujman-e-Tajran at Bilal Shopping Centre under the Presidentship of Sh Muhammad Tariq. Traders and office-bearers and market representatives including Ch Imran Malik Latif Wattoo, Ch Yaquoob, Irfan Gogga, Riaz Ahmed, Sh Hakeem, Hafiz Zahid, private schools association GQ Alvi, Ammar Gujjar and Ch Arif Rustom participated in the meeting. Meanwhile, two separate protest rallies were held in the city organized by Youth welfare society and Jamaatud Dawa wherein hundreds of participants marched on different roads of the city. HAFIZABAD, All the religious social, political parties and business organizations have decided to observe Youm-e-Ishq Rasool (PBUH) on Friday (today) and would take out rallies in the city in protest against the producing of profane film by the infidels in California. All Sunni Ulema under the auspices of Sunni Ittehad Council have decided to offer Friday prayers jointly at Chowk Fawara and would bring out protest rally. Jamiat-e-Ahle Hadith Youth Force has also arranged joint Friday congregation on Jalalpur Road near Masjid Mubarak.  Meanwhile, Clerks of Hafizabad on the call of APCA continued their strike on second consecutive day against the sacrilegious film. Later the protesters led by Ch Nasrullah Hanjra President APCA Hafizabad Chapter paraded the main roads and demonstrated in General Bus Stand.
