PM condoles with Shaikh Rashid over son’s demise in Dubai

DUBAI/Islamabad - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Sunday condoled with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, on the sad demise of his son Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
UAE Minister for Culture, Youth and Community Affairs Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and the Minister of State for Financial Affairs Sheikh Obaid Humaid Al Tayer received the Prime Minister and his delegation at the Royal Airport Dubai.
The prime minister was accompanied by the Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Minister for Defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi.
Ambassador of Pakistan in UAE Asif Durrani, Consul General Javid Jalil Khattak, Special Envoy to the Prime Minister for Overseas Investment Javed Malik and other senior officials of the embassy and Consulate General were also present at the reception.
The Prime Minister visited the Za’abeel Palace for condolence with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s visit is an expression of solidarity and deep love of the leadership and people of Pakistan. Pakistan and UAE enjoy cordial relations which are rooted in common culture, history and brotherhood.
Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, died on Saturday at the age of 33 due to heart attack.
Later in the evening, the Prime Minister along with his delegation departed for Islamabad. UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs Sheikh Obaid Humaid Al Tayer saw them off at the airport.
PM calls meeting of Sindh party leaders
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has called the meeting of party leaders from Sindh today (Monday) to give final touches to the party’s strategy for the upcoming local bodies’ elections.
Sources in the party informed The Nation that party leaders from some 28 districts of Sindh would participate in the meeting at Prime Minister’s Office while the central leadership of Sindh Chapter of the party including President PML-N Sindh Ismail Rahu, Secretary General Senator Naihal Hashmi, Senator Raheela Magsi, Saleem Zia, Imdad Chandio and others.
Mainly the matters relating to the party’s strategy for local bodies elections in Sindh would figure in the meeting and it would be decided whether party would enter into seat adjustment or not with local groups and parties.
Secretary General of the Sindh Chapter Senator Naihal Hashmi would also hold reception in honour of the visiting district chapter heads from some 28 districts at Islamabad Club.
