MIRPUR (AJK)-AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider directed the State Health Department to start process for the construction of four state-of-the art hospitals to be funded by the Pakistani government in different parts of the territory.

The AJK prime minister issued these directives while addressing a meeting held at Kashmir House. These projects will be funded by the government of akistan on the direction of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He was briefed by the secretary health about the ongoing process and progress on the allocation of land for the construction of new hospitals. The prime minister directed to start and complete the projects immediately.

He also passed directions to the Health Department to complete the Divisional Headquarters Hospital Mirpur and District Headquarters Hospital Sudhnoti within stipulated period. He emphasised for the provision of health facilities in 13 constituencies along the line of control (LOC).

On the directions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the federal government has written letters to the chief secretaries of the AJ&K & Gilgit/Baltistan for allocation of land for the construction of hospitals in different districts.

A 250-bed hospital will be constructed in Muzaffarabad, 100-bed hospitals in Rawlakot, Kotli and Athmuqam while land will be allocated for 50-bed hospital at Leepa in AJ&K.

Minister for Health Dr Najeeb Naqi, Secretary Health Maj-Gen Khalid Hussain, Principal secretary to Prime Minister Ahsan Khalid Kiani, Director General Health Dr Bashir Chaudhry and other officers of health department attended the meeting.
