ISLAMABAD-The Islamabad Tennis Association (ITA) under the auspices of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) will hold 1st ever Asian Tennis Tour Men’s Asian Ranking Tennis Championships from October 23 here at the Senator Dilawar Abbas PTF Tennis Complex.

The first of the series is Federal Cup ATT Championships and the second one is Syed Tajammul Abbas Memorial ATT Championships, these championships carry $5000 for each championship. As many as 43 nations of Asia are eligible to participate in the newly-introduced men’s professional championships, with winner of each leg earning $900.

The main draw of each leg comprises 16 players out of which nine will be accepted directly while one junior having the highest ranking as per the ITF juniors will be eligible to be part of the main draw. Hosts Pakistan is allowed to enter four wildcards below 23 years of age in the main draw with all main draw players getting $125 as travel grant. The qualifying draw will consist of 32 players.

The players intent to participate in these two high-profile tournaments are asked to enter the tournaments after getting Asian Players Identification Number (APIN) online through Asian Tennis Federation ATT Web site, www.asiantennistour.com/SitePages/AboutApin. The last date of entry through APIN is October 12. M Arif Qureshi is the referee of both the series events.
