Sindh Bank signs agreement with 1LINK

KARACHI (PR): Sindh Bank Limited has entered into an agreement with 1LINK (Guarantee) Limited for their recent launch of Domestic Payment Scheme - PayPak.

The signing ceremony was held at the Sindh Bank head office recently. This initiative will provide affordable, safe, and efficient alternative to existing banked population of Sindh Bank.

Azimullah Khan, acting CEO 1LINK (Guarantee) Limited, said, “PayPak launch is a step towards achieving strategic goal of financial inclusion of unbanked and underserved population of Pakistan in the documented economy and providing robust and modern payment system. PayPak is the ideal solution for Sindh bank to design their G2P programs and target un-served population with a low cost card.”

Tariq Ahsan, President & CEO of Sindh Bank, shared his views by appreciating the efforts of State Bank of Pakistan by introducing this localized version of debit card which would reduce the outflow of foreign currency from Pakistan and is hoping to have a mutually beneficial business relationship between PayPak and Sindh Bank.

OPD at MALC-EBM Health Centre inaugurated

LAHORE (PR): Pakistan’s leading biscuit company, English Biscuit Manufacturers (Pvt) Limited (EBM), in collaboration with the Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC), inaugurated the Mother and Child Outpatient Department (MnCH OPD) of MALC- EBM Health Centre in Landhi-Korangi. Working for the care of mothers and their newborns, the Centre will provide nutritional support and guidance to women of childbearing age, expecting mothersand newborns.

This first of its kind Mother and Child Centre has been established to prevent the rising child mortality in society caused by vitamins, minerals and iron deficiencies, as a leading cause. In Pakistan, more than 40 out of every thousand newborns die within the first month of birth, and these deaths are highly preventable through improved nutrition, proper prenatal care and provision of basic medical services.

English Biscuit Manufacturers (Pvt.) Limited has been supporting the triple merger activities of MALC-EBM Health Centre, Landhi Korangi since 2005. Over the past 2 years, more than 35,000 people have received awareness and care including treatment of leprosy and skin diseases, blindness, tuberculosis treatment and control activities.

The new Centre will also be equipped with new TB testing technology, a first of its kind in Pakistan,GeneXpert, ensuring accurate and quicker detection of tuberculosis,especiallyin women, since they are more likely to be undiagnosed for the lack of awareness and resources.Tuberculosis highly impacts maternal health, increasing the risk of premature birth and low birth weight. The technology will lead to improved health-care for expecting mothers and efficient preventative measures for growth and development of mother and the newborn.

Careem unveils new brand identity

LAHORE (PR): The region’s leading car booking app, Careem has unveiled its new brand identity to mark the company’s four-year anniversary. Over 110,000 young Pakistanis participate in Jazz Rising Stars

LAHORE (PR): 'Dunya Ko Bataa Do' is a pledge that Jazz has taken to provide the right platforms and opportunities to the Pakistani youth for them to achieve success. With this quest, Jazz moves forward to create the next generation of cricketing stars for Pakistan. After collaborating in the inaugural edition of the successful Pakistan Super League, Jazz and Lahore Qalandars have presented Jazz Rising Stars – a one of its kind initiative which aims to find the hidden cricketing talent, provide them a platform and equip them with the right resources to shine.

As part of the initiative, cricket trial camps were set up in eight districts of Punjab where Aqib Javed and Mudassar Nazar selected the best cricket talent for each district. A total of 111,553 contestants participated in the trials. Players from each district have been shortlisted to represent their districts in Jazz Rising Stars T20 Cup. The tournament will begin at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on September 24, 2016 with the final to be held on October 1, 2016.

Talking about the initiative, Asif Aziz, CCO, Mobilink said: “We are a cricket crazy nation. Cricket is not just a sport for us, it is more like a religion.
