islamabad - Echo Records held its first indie music festival dubbed as ‘Echo Rock Fest’ at Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) yesterday to provide opportunity to local singers and musical bands to show their talent in the world of music.

The founder of the organisation Ali Ashraf said on this occasion, “We are creating a very happening music scene in Islamabad and it is all based on live music events with original songs of the artists.”

The line-up included SOS, Aarish, Jasim Haider, Pindi Boys, Ali Ashraf, School of Rock, Disbelief and Black Hour. Hundreds of music lovers attended the event where they enjoyed live music performances of local bands and artists of Islamabad.

Families and youth also participated with joy and glee in the concert appreciating the efforts of the organising body. “Events like this should happen more often so the citizens of Islamabad can enjoy live music,” said Maha Kareem, a local resident who attended the festival with her family.
