Dawa team calls on Munawar Hassan

LAHORE A three-member delegation of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa headed by its central leader Maulana Amir Hamza, called on the Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan on Wednesday evening and condoled with him the death of JI workers in Peshawar bomb blast. Maulana Abdur Rauf, Secretary General Muttahidda Ulema Council also called on the JI chief for condolence. The visiting dignitaries said that the Peshawar bomb blast was an activity of the anti-Islam forces which wanted to harass the JI in order to contain its activities. They however said all the religious forces were at the back of the JI. They also underscored the need for unity of the religious forces for the defense of the country and its Islamic ideology. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Munawar Hassan said that the JI had been with the masses in highly difficult times when the other parties had been confined to drawing rooms. He said no body could stop the JI from going to the masses. He said the US subjugation, lawlessness and price-hike were problems of the entire nation and the JI would continue its struggle for their solution.
