ISLAMABAD Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has asked the Ministers to rationalise and prioritise the development projects for inclusion in the next PSDP of the budget 2010-11. He was talking to a group of Ministers who called on him at the Prime Ministers Secretariat here Wednesday. The Prime Minister asked the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission to give priority to the ongoing projects while releasing the requisite funds. He urged the Ministers to concentrate on the provision of basic amenities to the people and focus on the early completion of the development projects in various regions. He further added that all the ministries should prepare projects in consultation with the Planning Commission keeping in view the financial constraints. The Ministers apprised the Prime Minister of different projects being initiated by their ministries. Minister for Information Qamar Zaman Kaira, Minister for Minorities Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti, Senator Waqar Khan, Minister for Environment Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi, Minister for Postal Services Israrullah Zehri and Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Dr. Ishfaq Ahmad attended the meeting. Meanwhile, in another meeting with MPs from southern Punjab the Prime Minister said that the policy of reconciliation resulted in developing consensus among all the political forces to unanimously support the 18th Amendment. The same policy, he said, would be followed to resolve the basic problems of the people. The MPs delegation was led by Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Hamid Saeed Kazami. The Prime Minister said the strengthening of democratic institutions would help improve governance in the country. It would accelerate the development and progress, he added.
