RAWALPINDI - The Education Department has not provided staff to 38 boys and girls middle schools which were upgraded from middle standard to high standard last year.
According to details, the upgraded schools are not provided high school level headmaster, headmistress, clerks, sweepers, watchman, guards, lab assistant, computer attendant and gardeners. Delay in the appointment of staff has made the purpose of the up gradation useless. It should be mentioned here that the demand of new staff placed by the Education Department Rawalpindi district was insufficient to meet the requirement of 38 upgraded schools of the city. Moreover, physical education teacher, Arabic teachers, computer teachers and class four employees were not mentioned in the new demand by the officials concerned.
As a result of failure of education department to fill the overall gap, there is shortage of teachers in Punjab educational institutions, largely affecting the studies of the students particularly those getting education in high schools. On the other hand, a large number of students of Punjab government schools are still facing problems in getting better education only because of the shortage of teachers of respective subjects in several educational institutions of the province.
