I am a resident of Gulnar Colony, Dubai Town, Raiwind Road, Lahore, which is situated 7km away from Thokhar Niaz Baig, Lahore. I want to draw the attention of senior officials of the Punjab government towards the poor sanitation condition of Gulnar Colony, Dubai Town, Raiwind Road, Lahore which needs to be addressed on a war footing. This will help save the lives of poor residents of this locality from the possible onslaught of dengue virus. There is a great possibility of dengue virus breaking out in the region because the sewerage line from some parts is badly choked for the last one month and no one is paying attention to this issue. The dirty water remains overflowing from these gutters and gets collected in under construction plots, developing into ponds. Some gutters have no covers and are likely to cause accidents for children and motorcyclists who pass through here. The stagnant ponds are a breeding ground for mosquitoes and flies. In addition, some streets still remain unpaved and heaps of garbage can be seen lying all around. No arrangement seems to have been done for removing all this garbage. I request Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, who has been fighting against dengue virus, to please visit the locality to get an idea of the plight of its residents.
