KARACHI - Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Saturday approved the summary to send samples of body parts of late JSQM chairman Bashir Qureshi for further medical examination to London to ascertain the cause of his demise.
Earlier, leaders and workers of the JSQM as well as family of late Qureshi expressed concerns over the findings of the report of a 15-member medical board, constituted by the Health Department.
Qureshi’s widow and son had lodged an application with the Home Department requesting to send the viscera to a reputable laboratory in London so as to ascertain the cause of his death.
After the approval, the Heath Department has been asked to contact the deceased person’s family for their choice.
Meanwhile, a central leader of the JSQM confirmed that the government had given the approval.
During a meeting with JSQM delegation, Home Minister Manzoor Wassan had assured them of an impartial inquiry by sending the sample aboard.
On the call given by the JSQM, the Sindhi population-dominated areas in Karachi observed a complete strike on Saturday.
Public transport and shops remained shut in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Gulstan-e-Jauhar, Sachal Goth, Ibrahim Hyderi, Safora, Gulshan-e-Maymar and other sub-urban areas located in Malir, South and East districts of Karachi.
