QUETTA - Two Hazara people were killed when an unidentified gunman attacked them on Saturday.

According to police, a gunman fired shots at two motorcyclists when they were on their way on Brewery Road, killing one of them on the spot and wounding another critically.

The deceased and injured were shifted to hospital where the wounded died. The deceased were identified as Numan and Hussain Ali. Separately, unidentified armed men attacked JWP-Ideological leader Muhammad Ali Hazar at A-One City area in the Brewery police limits, injuring him seriously.

He was moved to Combined Military Hospital where he is stated to be out of danger. Police said both the attacks seemed to be targeted killing.

The shootings drew ire among the Hazara people who reached Bolan Medical Complex Hospital and staged a protest at Western Bypass area. Markets and shops around Brewery Road and its adjacent areas remained closed.  The personnel of law enforcement agencies rushed to the site to thwart any untoward incident.

JWP-Ideological General Secretary Muhammad Yousuf Notezai condemned the attack on his party leader Muhammad Ali Hazara. He told a press conference that through a conspiracy the JWP was being targeted.

On the other hand, the Frontier Corps (FC) claimed to have arrested two people for killing Hazara people.

Sources said an FC patrol along with local police nabbed the two armed people believed to be involved in killing two Hazara people.

Weapons were also recovered from them, the sources said.

The arrested are identified as Sowri Khan Bugti and Habibullah. Authorities have been probing the matter.

In Bostan area of Pishin district - some 60-kilometre away from Quetta - two bullet-riddled bodies were founded.

Levies Force officials said following a tip-off, the personnel recovered two bodies from Killi Umerabad area of Bostan.

They shifted the bodies to Civil Hospital for post-mortem.However, the identity of deceased could to not be identified till filing of this report.

The bodies bore multiple torture marks, sources in hospital said. The sources added that the corpses were shifted to Quetta from Pishin.The Levies Force has registered a case against and started investigation.

Meanwhile, the Levies Force men recovered a body dumped in gunny bag near local hotel in Chamman area of Killa Saifullah district and moved it to hospital. The identity of deceased could not be ascertained.
