The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday issued notice to Punjab government seeking its reply over measures being taken to curb the measles outbreak which has claimed over 54 lives in Punjab since January.
The notice was issued in a case filed by a local lawyer. In his petition, he stated that provincial health department has not taken sufficient steps to eliminate the disease which caused deaths of children and the number of affectees is growing day-by-day.
After today’s hearing, the court issued notice to Punjab health department ordering it to explain its position and apprise the court of the present situation.
