PTI’s Khattak sharply reacts to N allegations

ISLAMABAD -

PTI Secretary General Pervaiz Khattak, while expressing surprise at the accusations by PML-N leaders against PTI candidates and ticket allocation procedures, has said that it is unfortunate that issues are being relegated to the backburner by the Nawaz League and instead personalized attacks are being undertaken in the media.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, Khattak felt the other parties are unable to comprehend PTI’s revolutionary decision to award 80 per cent tickets to first timers and 35 per cent tickets to under 40 yr old candidates.
He said that these allegations are baseless while the PNL-N has awarded its about 30 per cent of tickets to close relatives of the Sharif family.
He pointed out that PML-N’s Information Secretary and Senator Mushahidullah Khan has managed two party tickets for his daughters for the reserved seats of the National and Sindh assemblies respectively.
Similarly, he added, PML-N leader Saad Rafique has gained a handsome share of party tickets for his family. He himself would contest from NA-125, while his younger brother Salman Rafique would contest for a Punjab Assembly seat.
Another close relative of Saad has been accommodated on reserved seats for women. Saad’s wife Ghazala has also served as an MPA on a reserved seat in the previous govt, while Salman was adviser to the then Chief Minister on Health. Another Leaguer, Jaffer Iqbal Gujjar, has also succeeded in winning four tickets for his family. His son Umer Jafar, daughter Zeb Jafar, son-in-law Faisal Iqbal and niece Maiza Hameed Gujjar have been awarded tickets for the upcoming elections, Khattak said.
Pervaiz Malik is contesting for a National Assembly seat from Lahore and his wife has been selected on a reserved seat for the National Assembly, the PTI leader concluded.
