LAHORE  - The Punjab government has released funds of around Rs149 b out of revised size of ADP of about Rs210 b for the development projects during the last nine months of current fiscal year of 2012-13. However, total funds of Rs98.2 b have so for been utilized during the period of 1st July, 2012 to 31st March, 2013 on the completion of development projects with the percentage of 66 pc.

According to sector wise funds utilization details, an overall utilization of the development sectors was more than benchmarked as 70pc which included: Rs36m out of 250m was released and Rs36m was utilized with the percentage of 100pc for Fisheries Sector, for Transport sector Rs40m out of Rs1200m was released while Rs38m was utilized with the percentage of 94pc, for Literacy and Non-Formal Basic Education Sector worth Rs341m out of 915m was released and Rs306m was utilized with the percentage of 90pc, worth Rs24.95 b out of Rs25.39 b was released while Rs21.17 b was utilized with the percentage of 85pc for BRTS, for Agriculture Sector R 29.14 b out of Rs50.4 b released and Rs23.85 b utilized with the percentage of 82pc, for Water Supply & Sanitation Sector Rs. 5141m out of Rs. 9960m was released while Rs. 3861million was utilized with the percentage of 75pc, for Live Stock & Dairy Development Rs. 115m out of Rs. 1658m was released and Rs. 84m was utilized with the percentage of 73pc.

The performance of other development sectors was benchmarked below the 70pc which included: for Tourism Sector Rs.108m out of Rs. 294m was released and Rs. 3m was spent with the percentage of 3pc, for School Education Sector worth Rs. 5738m out of Rs. 15013 was released while Rs. 1500m utilized with the percentage of 26pc, for Public Buildings Sector Rs. 4559m out of Rs. 5092m was released and Rs. 1462m was utilized with the percentage of 32pc, for Labour Sector Rs. 76m out of Rs. 100m was released and Rs. 26m was spent with the percentage of 34pc, for Sports Sector Rs. 530m out of Rs. 1800m was released while Rs. 199m utilized with the percentage of 37pc, for Health Sector worth Rs. 13642m out of Rs. 16505m was released while Rs. 5127m was utilized with the percentage of 38pc, for Mines and Mineral Sector Rs. 136m out of Rs. 300m was released and Rs. 53m utilized with the percentage of 39pc, for Roads Sector Rs. 27403m out of Rs. 34163m was released while Rs. 16059m was utilized with the percentage of 59pc, Rs. 13m out of Rs. 265m was released while none utilization was made for the TEVTA Sector and for HR&MA Sector Rs. 78m out of Rs. 220m was released while zero utilization was made by the concern Department.

According to P&D spokesman, Chairman P&D Board Punjab Sohail Ahmad chaired a high level two-day meetings of 3rd Quarter Review to gauge the implementation status of ADP 2012-13. An especial briefing, during the review meeting, had been given to newly Chairman, P&D Board on the overall status of ADP’s implementation in the Province.

During the briefing chairman P&D Sohail Ahmad, addressing the meeting, said that the Punjab Government would take especial steps for removing bottlenecks and ensuring their better performance in the infrastructure development projects like Roads sector, Irrigation and Public Buildings Sectors.
