Rawalpindi - The anti-narcotics force (ANF) conducted various operations against drug mafia across the country and recovered 74 kilograms narcotics, besides apprehending 14 smugglers including a foreigner. Two vehicles have also been seized by the force, informed ANF spokesman here on Tuesday. According to him, the ANF in its drive against drug trafficking conducted 9 operations across the country, which resulted in recovery of 21.6-kg heroin, 33.6-kg hashish, 18-kg opium and 900 grams ice (amphetamine).

During these operations, ANF arrested 14 drug traffickers including four ladies including a Nigerian national lady. The total value of recovered drugs is approximately Rs 245 million in international market, he said. He said that ANF rounded up a Nigerian national lady namely Miss Uche Lilian Ezegioha at Benazir Bhutto Islamabad International Airport and recovered 600 grams heroin from her luggage.

She was boarding for Lagos via Doha by Qatar Airline flight number QR-631. Similarly, ANF taking action in Gilgit, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar also recovered drugs and arrested smugglers, he said. Cases were registered against the accused and further investigation was on, he informed.
