NPT remembers Iqbal

LAHORE - The Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust marked 80th death anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal in collaboration with Pakistan Movement Workers Trust on Saturday.

Chairman of Pakistan Movement Workers Trust Justice (R) Mian Mahboob Ahmed presided over the sitting occasion while noted personalities Justice (R) Nasira Javed Iqbal, Senator Sajid Mir, grandson of Allama Iqbal Waleed Iqbal, Sahibzada Sultan Ahmed Ali, Prof Dr Syed Akram Ikram Shah, Dr Zahid Munir Amir, Dr Tahir Raza Bukhari, Begum Khalida Jamil, Mehnaz Rafi, Muhammad Tufail Malik, Yasin Wattoo and Mian Ibrahim Tahir joined the event.

In his special message for the day, NPT Chairman Rafique Tarar paid tribute to Iqbal saying: “Pakistan was conceptualised by Allama Iqbal. He was a great thinker of the Muslim world. His philosophy is all about struggle.”

Chief Justice (R) Mian Mahboob Ahmed said Quaid-i-Azam spearheaded Pakistan Movement in line with the concept of Iqbal. Justice (R) Nasira  said Iqbal urged youth to work hard. Senator Sajid Mir stressed the need for following Iqbal’s philosophy.

Other speakers paid glowing tributes to Iqbal and urged the youth to follow in Iqbal’s footsteps. Secretary General NPT Shahid Rasheed moderated the seminar. At the end prizes were also distributed among the winner students in various competitions held at Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan.
