LAHORE - Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan has expressed concerns over the reports of mass graves in Swat and called for an inquiry into the matter by a judicial commission. Addressing the Friday congregation at Mansoora, he said the independent media and human rights activists reaching the area, which has remained under military control and curfew, have revealed the hanging of Taliban in certain areas and mass graves. Munawar said although the army had denied its involvement in such happenings but it could not be absolved of the responsibility of such incidents in its controlled areas. He called upon the government to hold an impartial enquiry into the matter. He said if such acts by the Taliban were condemnable, involvement of any responsible institution in such acts could not be condoned either.
