A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan pleading the court to try former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf for high treason under Article 6 of the Constitution, report said. Senator Zafar Ali Shah, central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, filed the petition under Article 184/3 of the Constitution in the apex court here Saturday. Shah citing the SCs full bench verdict of declaring the Nov 3, 2007 acts by then President Musharraf as illegal and void, has pleaded the court to order the registration of the case against him under Article 6. In his plea, Shah has maintained that General (r) Pervez Msuharraf committed high treason against the state by declaring emergency on Nov 3, 2007 and dismissing more than 60 judges of the apex courts.
