A woman and her son, who had sustained injuries in a fireworks explosion in Kamalia on Wednesday, succumbed to their wounds here on Thursday, taking the death toll to five. Three minor children died on the spot when the house collapsed due to explosion in fireworks.
According to the Kamalia Saddr Police, fireworks crackers were being produced in the house of Arshad Chohan in Chak 739/GB when it exploded with a bang. Resultantly rooms of the house collapsed, killing three children - 7-year-old Asad, 4-year-old Husnain and 3-year-old Arooj Fatima instantly. Their elder brother Yasir Ali and mother Kalsoom Bibi sustained critical burns and wounds. They were admitted to Toba DHQ Hospital where they succumbed to their wounds on Thursday.
