ISLAMABAD- Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Asif today said sit-ins and protest demonstrations have badly damaged the economy of the country and the government is trying to resolve the issues in less than no time.

In an interview to journalists, he said number of foreign investors and companies had postponed their schedule visit to Pakistan due to political whirlwind in the country.

Defence Minister stated the people of Pakistan have mandated PML-N and the government can only be ousted by the people therefore Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will not resign on demands of Pakistan Tehreek Insaaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT). Khawaja Asif said Prime Minister will not tender resignation because it is not possible as laid down in the constitution.

To a query, he rejected the impression of replacing of IG Islamabad adding that new IG was relative of PTI Provincial Minister which shows clear intention of the government. He said interference of the army in politics has become part of history and it is engaged in protecting of the Prime Minister.
