Hate speech against women is a common practice of Pakistani clergy class, especially, those clerics who are deprived of any formal education. In their sermons, they solely, stress on character, parda, role of women and limitations of women. In such sermons the character of women is assassinated and it is given implied suggestion to men to tackle this moral downfall of their women with iron hands or else they could be held accountable in hereafter. It is quite unfortunate that recordings of such sermons are played at public places and in public transports. In this way such sermons of conservative clerics are also contributing to the increasing violence against women. It is strongly recommended that such material should be included in the list of hate speech and should be banned. The state need to fulfill it responsibility and must protect half of its population from intolerance and extremism.
