ISLAMABAD - Aqeel Khan, M Abid Ali Akbar, Yasir Khan and M Abid carved out victories on the second day of PTF Masters' Invitational Tennis Championship being played on the hard courts of Pakistan Sport Complex.

Aqeel Khan was stretched to the limit by Canadian-based Pakistan youngster Asad Ali Siyyid and after three hard fought sets, Aqeel managed to beat his opponent 7-5, 6-3, 6-4. Aqeel won the first set 7-5 by breaking 12th game of Asad and then took next two sets 6-3, 6-4 to register victory. Asad played better tennis against Pakistan's top player, as he was looking in shape after recovering from stomach bug.

In the second match, Abid Akbar thrashed Ahmed Chaudhry, who has just returned after undergoing training in Austria for three months at Vienna Tennis Academy, by 6-0, 6-1, 6-0. In the third match of the day, M Abid got walkover against Hamza Mehmood (UK) just after both the players finished the mandatory warm up of five minutes since Hamza was facing stomach problem. In the fourth match of the day, Yasir beat Shahzad 7-5, 3-2 as Shahzad conceded the match on medical grounds.

Today (Saturday), Aqeel will take on his younger brother Yasir while Ahmed plays against Asad Siyyid, Shahzad faces Hamza Mehmood, while Abid Akbar vies against M Abid.
