LAHORE - PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that solution to all the problems lies in formation of national government for one year. He dispelled the impression that Pakistan was heading towards a failed state and termed it mere illusion. He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony held in connection with 90th birthday of Col (r) Amjad Hussain Syed, comrade of Quaid-e-Azam and worker of Pakistan Movement at PML House on Sunday. Col (r) Amjad Hussain Syed, Editor-in-Chief Nawa-i-Waqat/ The Nation Majid Nizami, PML-Q Secretary-General Mushahid Hussain, former Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi, Ch Zaheeruddin, PML-Q Lahore chapter President Mian Muneer Ahmed, Mowahid Hussain Syed, Begum Mehnaz Rafi and others were present on the occasion. A cake-cutting ceremony was also arranged in this regard. He said Pakistan could not gain true sovereignty despite passage of 67 years. However, he said that if all the political forces of the country get united and form a national government for one year, situation could be reversed. "We could not intimate the youth about its heroes and leaders," he said, maintaining that it is high time to mobilise young generation and keep them aware of the concepts of Pakistan's founder Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He said Pakistan was locked in innumerable problems. "What to talk of foreigners, now indigenous parties have started propagating and are describing Pakistan a failed state," he added. He said failure of the government, leadership and policies did not mean country was going to become a failed state. He said it was not time to wrangle with one another instead it was a time to bring unity among the political forces of the country to thwart malignant designs of foreign powers. "The PML-Q believed that formation of national government was inevitable," he said. He said that the ceremony had been organised to pay rich tribute to the hero of Pakistan Movement Col (r) Amjad Hussain Syed. The said hero joined the movement during the period of studentship. He had distinction that he was one of those who were selected by Allama Iqbal for historical meeting in Lakhnow. Second person was late Hameed Nizami," he added. He said, "Time demands us to project the national heroes to promote national harmony and patriotism among the nation." He said Amjad Hussain was a living legend. "His son Syed Mowahid Hussain is serving the nation with his writing while Syed Mushahid Hussain, his second son, is active in the field of journalism. Amjad Hussain and his family's meritorious services in the field of literature, education, and journalism were the asset of nation," he added. He said truth is key to success. "Unless we support truth, we cannot work as proud nation," he held. Amjad Hussain, during his address, shed the light over his memories regarding Pakistan Movement, character of Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal, late Hameed Nizami and his meetings with them and other significant moments. He said, "We should respect the freedom as it is outcome of hard struggle." He regretted over for the crises that are gripping Pakistan for the last many years. He paid rich tribute to Hameed Nizami for his meritorious services. On the occasion, Mowahid Hussain regretted over the absence of true leadership. He felt depressed that there was abundance of leaders in the country but still there was rarity of leadership. He said US going President George Bush was hit with shoes as a symbol of hate. But, he said that Islamic countries leadership also deserved such treatment due to their lull over US's excesses in the world. He hoped that the present century will bring progress in Pakistan.
