RAWALPINDI - Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) activists who either killed or were injured in two different bomb blasts at Liaqut Bagh and outside Islamabad Court last year have been given plots as well as financial assistance by President Asif Ali Zaradri. Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Member of Central Executive Committee (CEC) and Political Victim Cell (PVC) Chairman Dr Israr Shah said this while addressing a Press conference at Rawalpindi Islamabad Press Club here on Sunday. He said that plots and financial assistance have been given to those 28 workers of PPP who either sacrificed their lives or got injured in two bomb blasts, outside the Islamabad Court on17 July 2007 and Liaquat Bagh on 27 December 2007 in which Benazir Bhutto was assassinated. CEC Member Dr Israr Shah said that the problems of PPP workers would be resolved on priority basis. He said that for the purpose to compensate those party workers, who had been politically victimised, President Zardari has constituted PVC under his chairmanship. The cell has its secretariat at Zardari House Islamabad, which has compensated more than 20,000 party workers in different ways. PVC would continue to work with the same zeal to provide the assistance to those party workers who faced prejudice and bias of former governments, said Dr Israr Shah adding that Cell was also working for the welfare of the family members of those workers who lost their lives in terrorists attacks.
