ISLAMABAD (Online) - Chief of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) Talal Akbar Bugti has said that President Asif Ali Zardari has assured him that military operation in Balochistan will soon be halted. JWP Chief said this while addressing a press conference in Northern House here on Sunday. Bugti alleged that former president Pervez Musharraf was murderer of Benazir Bhutto and Nawab Akbar Bugti and he must be arrested. Musharraf had been allowed to flee from the country under a preconceived conspiracy, he added. Military operation in Balochistan had been intensified following his meeting with President Zardari, therefore, President, Prime Minister and Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior should take notice of it, he demanded. Role of ISI, MI and other secret agencies must be eliminated from Dera Bugti, he added. He demanded to restore deposed chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry for the sake of dignity of judiciary. "We support his reinstatement. Justice will be available if judiciary is independent," he added. "The allegation levelled against us that we are pro-India is wrong," Bugti underlined. "If the rulers fail to correct the situation, it would become worse than East Pakistan," he warned. "We are looking forward to future by departing from past but military operation is still going on against us," he observed. Those who were included in committee for Peace in Balochistan, they were so-called intellectuals, he said. Those who hailed from affected areas should be included in the committee, he demanded. "We are not in contact with Barahmadar Bugti. We are not supportive of division of Pakistan. We believe in parliamentary politics rather than armed struggle," he underlined. About his 16-point charter of demand he said, "We have given 16-point charter of demand to President Asif Ali Zardari. It is demanded therein that military operation in Sui, Dera Bugti and Kohlu Agency be suspended forthwith. Army, militia, police and dummy courts be abolished. An impartial commission should be constituted to probe into the martyrdom of Nawab Akbar Bugti. He said no other system than tribal system would be accepted in Balochistan. Release of detained persons and recovery of missing persons be ensured immediately. PPL headquarters be immediately shifted to Quetta so that people of Balochistan could realise that they had access to their resources. Bill presented in Senate on provincial autonomy be put to debate. Royalty on all Sui and OGDC gas fields be given to the province. Half of this royalty be spent on the development projects of people of Sui and Dera Bugti. Those who had migrated from Sui and Dera Bugti be compensated for the loss caused to them. Only People of Balochistan have their right on privileges and services in Gwadar and settlers who had come from outside would not be accepted as local. NFC award be distributed on the basis of area, poverty, illiteracy rather than population. Recruitments made in the government and semi-government departments particularly in health and education through bribery in Sui and Dera Bugti from January, 2005 be revoked", he demanded.
