China vows to deepen military ties with Pakistan

THE Chinese armed forces would like to improve friendly and cooperative relations with the Pakistani armed forces, a senior Chinese military official said, according to Chinas state-run Xinhua press agency, reported Defpro.com. Chinese Defence Minister Liang Guanglie made the remarks when meeting with Noman Bashir, visiting Pakistani chief of the naval staff. China attached great importance to its traditional friendship with Pakistan, Liang said, adding that the two countries had conducted comprehensive and multi-level military exchanges and cooperation in various areas. The Pakistani armed forces and people cherished their friendship with the Chinese armed forces and people, Noman Bashir said, noting that Pakistan would like to work with China to promote the comprehensive and cooperative partnership. Later, addressing a Press conference on Monday Noman said he sees a prosperous cooperation between China and Pakistan in navy field. Ive been very pleased to have all Chinese media friends to participate this conference and is willing to answer any issues you are interested said Noman at the opening speech. Its my third visit to China in this year because Pakistan and China have many fields of collaboration in terms of military and navy field, he added. This year, Pakistan has worked with China in levels of navy technology transfer, air force projects, intelligence technology field and others. We appreciate the support Chinese government had given to us, and wish next year in navy technology and ship-field, we could achieve more. Noman also indicated more possible purchases of Chinas advanced frigates.
