Carol singing event

LAHORE - Carol singing, rich plum cake, Santa Claus, chocolates and lot of gifts. A Christmas get-together was organised under the aegis of daily The Nation and Pearl Continental Hotel at the hotel’s main lobby late Saturday noon.
The event brought together leaders of the Christian community, clergy, NGOs and media, heads of Christian organisations and children from SOS Village.
Bishop of Lahore Rt Rev Irfan Jamil, Rev Shahid Miraj, GM PC Hotel Irshad B Anjum, singer A Nayyar, Captain MacDonald E Chandi, Principal Cathedral School Sarwar Masih, Cedric Shah, Roy Menzies, Haroon Rehmat, John Siddique, Munawar Anis Alam and Rajil Joshua were prominent among present on the occasion.
The event began with the singing of popular Christmas carol Jingle Bells by choir of Cathedral Church Lahore. Gaeti Rajil led the choir. This brought in the Santa Claus dancing all the way dressed in red. The audience joined the choir clapping and singing out loudly. Other popular carols presented on the occasion included Silent Night Holy Night, Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Joy to the World, Once in Royal David’s City and O Come All Ye Faithful.
In his address on the occasion Rt Rev Irfan Jamil stressed on the message of love and peace. The bishop at the end of function distributed Christmas gifts among the children.
