LAHORE: The University of Engineering and Technology Senate approved the recurring and development budget for the year 2013-14. A total of Rs.2572.941 million is allocated for income and Rs.2646.507 million for expenditure with a deficit of Rs.73.566 million. The senate meeting was chaired by Punjab Minister Education Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan.

Vice-Chancellor Lt Gen (r) Muhammad Akram Khan presented the report. He said that UET was one of the top two universities of Pakistan as per HEC Ranking 2013 and according to the QS world ranking, UET was ranked at 281 amongst the top engineering and technology universities of the world. The members of the Senate elected Dean Civil Engineering Prof Dr Abdusttar Shakir and Prof Dr Khalid Mehmoodul Hassan as members of the Syndicate.  The Minister Education appreciated the university achievements and peaceful environment.–Staff Reporter
