Bio-computers (hypothetical) use systems of biologically derived molecules, such as DNA and proteins, to perform computational calculations involving storing, retrieving, and processing data. Not all computers are made of silicon. According to the Oxford dictionary; the literal interpretation of computer, an electronic device, which is capable of receiving information (data) in a particular form and of performing a sequence of operations in accordance with a predetermined but variable set of procedural instructions (programme) to produce a result in the form of information or signals. Biology is the study of living organisms including plants and animals. Start from Abacus, the ability of a computer to solve a problem is increasing day by day and what a computer scientist can do with these computers is beyond the imagination of a normal human being. From the past century the science is making progress with an exponential rise .With the progress of science and technology, new types of computers are introduced like quantum computers, nano-computers and bio-computers.

Most of the ideas about bio-computers are still in a theoretical form but the scientists have started working on bio-computers and invention of transcripter is its prove. Transcripter is similar to transistor but it is composed of DNA and RNA rather than electrons.

Scientists are working to perform computation by using brains of  animals and communicate with them from brain to brain interface .You can consider a human brain as a bio-computer .  Bio-computer is very complicated and has not yet reached to its complete form but much efforts has put to this subject and as they sow, so shall they reap and they have completed some modules of it like bio-computers can do those things which years ago doctors think impossible like cure of cancer or making duplicate of a body including its all parts.

With the help of bio-computers, their proper and fast growth can be possible. Recently some scientists have made the normal tree to give light at night so that it can solve the problem of street light and saves energy just by using nano-gold ion particles. Now the cloning of a human body is possible and if any of its human body part is not working properly it can be replaced easily by making it through bio-computers. The prominent types of bio-computers are bioelectronics computers, biomechanical computers and biochemical computers. Bioelectronics is concerned with the application of biological materials and processes in electronics, biochemical is relating to the chemical processes and substances which occur within living organisms.

Biomechanics is the study of the structure and function of biological systems such as humans, animals, plants, organs, and cells by means of the methods of mechanics.  Many examples of simple bio-computers have been designed, but the capabilities of these bio-computers are still largely premature in comparison to commercially available non-bio computers. However, there is definitely great potential in the capabilities that bio-computers may one day acquire. The processing power of a human brain is much greater than a super computer, so if,  in future the scientists will make the real complete bio computer ,which can be programmed like the human brain and the whole body, then it will be the revolution of  computers and biology.
