MIRPUR (AJK) - The Mirpur Development Authority has set up a one-window facilitation centre at its central office to ensure delivery of quick services to the masses.

The fully equipped and computerized state-of-the-art one-window centre started functioning after it was formally inaugurated by newly-inducted MDA Director General Raja Amjad Pervez Ali Khan at a ceremony held at the MDA complex.

The ceremony was largely attended by the city elite including senior journalists and lawyers, government officials and the employees of the MDA besides Director Administration Ch Muhammad Raqeeb, Director Estate Management Raja Imran Shaheen, Deputy Director Anti-Encroachment Cell Muhammad Younis Mughal, Town Planner Zaffar Lodhi, Law Officer Ch Muhammad Zaraat, MDA Employees Union President Lala Abdul Qayyum, Executive Engineer Ch Muhammad Arshad, Muhammad Asif Dar and Encroachment Officer Chan Pervez.

Highlighting salient features of the Center, Deputy Director Anti-Encroachment said that after assuming charge of office, the MDA DG decided to introduce series of reforms in the the authority to ensure vibrant role of the MDA in providing swift services to the masses.

He said that applicants including those seeking transfer of plots, approval of designs of the private and commercial buildings, queries about existing positions of the allotted plots in line with the already approved and under-process master plans (maps) and other amenities, for which MDA is responsible to deliver, would once submit their application in the One-window Facilitation Centre which would give a stipulated timeframe to the outcome of their applications.

Later, it would be the responsibility of the MDA to ensure quick disposal of the application in line with the need of the aspirant.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director Administration and Director Estate Management admitted that poor performance of various sections of the MDA in the past resulted in bad reputation of the institution among the masses.

They declared that an extensive drive was being launched to retrieve allotted plots in various housing sectors of the MDA from illegal occupation of qabza mafia.
