SIALKOT -The loadshedding of gas irked the consumers especially the females, forcing them to take to the streets in Sialkot areas on Sunday.

In severe cold and dense fog, hundreds of protesters came out on the roads and held demonstrations in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Uggoki, Chawinda, Badiana, Pasrur and surrounding areas against the prolonged loadshedding of gas and shortage of LPG.

They were also carrying kitchen items and chanting slogans demanding early end to gas loadshedding. The women revealed that there was 18 to 20 hours long loadshedding of gas for the domestic consumers. The pressure of gas remains very low in the rest time due to which they were unable to prepare meals.

Meanwhile, the people also protested against the shortage of LPG in Sialkot district. They said that several shopkeepers, however, were black marketing LPG on inflated rate of Rs160 to Rs250 per kg against the fixed rate of Rs125.
