ISLAMABAD - The 83rd executive committee meeting of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) was held under the chair of Inter provincial Coordination (IPC) Minister Riaz Pirzada here at Pakistan Sports Complex committee room on Thursday.
As many as 22 points were discussed during the lengthy meeting, which included sending the PSB employees to perform Hajj on government expenses, kids of retired employees to be given jobs, services regularization of daily wages employees and up-gradation of accounts cadre, while third and fourth agreement between PSB, CBA and administration was also on the agenda.
The committee gave approval to the agenda, which gave legal status to incentives provided to the PSB employees. The minister also announced the details during a media briefing soon after the meeting. Soon after hearing the IPC minister announcement, celebrations started and sweets were distributed. They gathered around the minister’s office along with the kids and started raising slogans in favor of the minister.
Speaking on the occasion, CBA secretary M Akram Bhatti thanked the minister, IPC secretary, PSB DG and executive committee members and termed it ‘a historic day’. Ganjera also credited the IPC minister for announcing such incentives for the employees.
The IPC minister said: “I have fulfilled today all my promises, which I have with the PSB employees and my doors are always open for them. I will continue to offer incentives for them in future as well. We are doing our best to conduct the 2nd Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Provincial Games in a befitting manner. We have also raised the cash incentives for international medal winners, which would attract and help them perform well.”
The minister lauded Pakistan cricket team head coach Micky Arthur’s services, saying he has transformed the national team into champions. “India is throwing bombs on Pakistan and we want to play cricket with them. I couldn’t understand why India is afraid of playing against Pakistan. “We are providing every single penny details to parliament and everything is being run in a professional manner.”
The executive committee also gave approval to establish the first-ever sports university of the country saying, “We are in contact with Chinese universities in this regard and I hope the university will surely help in educating our players in a befitting manners.”
