TLYR to contest polls actively

 

HAFIZABAD:Central Chairman Tehreek Labaik Ya-Rasoolullah Khadim Hussain Rizvi and patron Pir Muhammad Afzal Qadri have declared that their party would nominate its candidates in the forthcoming general elections to contain the secular parties. Addressing a gathering in Thathi Behlolpur, they said that PPP, PTI and other secular parties are hell-bent on introducing secular system in the country and TLYR would support the candidates who would protect Tahafuz Khatme Nubuwwat laws.They presented cash amount of Rs500,000 to the parents of Abu Sufyan, who was killed by the police firing during a sit-in staged on Sargodha Road. They demanded arrest of the SHO and DSP within a week otherwise they would again visit the village and stage 'dharna'.–Staff Reporter

 

Customs Group elections held

 

SAMBRIAL: The office-bearers of Sialkot Customs Agents Group were elected un-opposed.  According to a notification issued by Election Committee, Jamshed Cheema was elected as president, Mirza Farooq &Tariq Hussain as senior vice presidents and Tariq Naz & Ehsanullah as vice presidents. Four other office-bearers were also elected un-opposed. Meanwhile, two cricket gamblers were held by Sambrial Police while one managed to flee away. The police raided on Bismillah Market where gambling was going on over telephone on cricket match. The police arrested Rizwan Raju and Qaiser Hameed and took four cell phones, LCD and a laptop into custody which were being used for gambling. Third gambler Waseem Arshad fled away from the crime scene.–Staff Reporter
