Gujranwala/LAYYAH - Police have chalked out a security plan for Xmas as a total 3,673 policemen including 913 officers will perform duties at churches, markets and shopping centres, said CPO Ashfaq Ahmed.
He added that about 1,231 programmes would be held in the region and for protection of lives and properties of the citizens, a large number of police officials will be deputed outside the churches, while walkthrough gates, CCTV cameras and metal detectors have also been set up at all the important points.
He said all the DSPs and SHOs have been directed to increase patrolling in their areas while Elite Police Force will also make patrol in the city areas round the clock. He appealed to the citizens to cooperate with police for avoiding any untoward incident.
Also Layyah police finalised security plan for Christmas. According to police sources, 330 cops will be deployed at 18 churches and Christmas bazaar. Two churches were included in A category and 16 in B Category.
Talking to The Nation, District Police Officer Nasir Mukhtar said that all the security measures had been taken for Christmas events.
