Wardens to control traffic flow in Gujar Khan

GUJAR KHAN"City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Rao Muhammad Iqbal has said that traffic wardens (TW) are performing their professional duties with dedication and commitment in the spirit to bring a positive behavioural change; to put an end to the traffic problems and to help create law-respecting society. He said this at the launching of traffic wardens service in Gujar Khan where the wardens have assumed charge to streamline the traffic flow in all the tehsils of Rawalpindi District. Parliamentary secretary Raja Tariq Kiani, SSP Traffic Raja Riffat Mukhtar, SSP Malik Matloob Awan, Tehsil Nazim Gujar Khan Ch Muhammad Azam, SP traffic Qayyum Arshad, DSP headquarters Syed Abid Shah and other notables were also present on the occasion. While appreciating the performance of traffic wardens, the city police officer said the traffic wardens through their better performance had created a goodwill and public-friendly atmosphere. Rao Iqbal was of the view that old traffic system had been abolished and traffic wardens have been working according to the wishes of the people. He said with the replacement of new system the public would feel change and difference and public confidence in the wardens will grow with the every passing time. "Traffic wardens in fact have become our identity and it is imperative to strengthen this system and we can present traffic wardens as model," he added. He said that despite rush hours and huge traffic on the main and busiest roads in the city like the Benazir Bhutto Road, the traffic flow remains smooth which he said could be possible only because of traffic wardens, competence and devotion. Provincial Parliamentary Secretary Raja Tariq Kiani, CTO SSP traffic Raja Riffat Mukhtar, Nazim Gujar Khan Ch. Muhammad Azam and others also addressed on the occasion. The speakers hailed the new traffic system and working of wardens and termed this system necessary to help end the traffic problems of the commuters.
