LAHORE - An Accountability Court on Monday awarded ten year imprisonment to an Additional Commissioner Income Tax (Sargodha), namely Muhammad Iqbal, on the charges of misappropriating Rs 170m. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 10m on the convict along with confiscation of his moveable and immoveable assets. As per details, NAB Punjab had filed a reference against Muhammad Iqbal on a complaint. The investigation disclosed that the accused during his appointment in Lahore had made assets of Rs 170m beyond his means of income. NAB had filed a reference against him in the court and later the accused had secured bail from the court.
