KARACHI - Pakistan Week is being held in Colombo in connection of PIAs flight operation to Colombo, Sri Lanka. PIA had started operation from February 19. Pakistan Week presenting various aspects of its vibrant culture, culinary taste of its food, trade stalls, fashion show, Qawwali and ghazal singing performance was inaugurated in Colombo by Sri Lankas First Lady Shiranthi Rajapakse on Sunday night that was largely attended by elite of the capital, ambassadors, officials and businessmen including Pakistanis. Shiranthi Rajapakse remained there for two hours at Qawwali sitting presented by Pakistans renowned brothers Ghulam Fareed Ayaz & Abu Muhammad and party at a hotel in Colombo and later attended dinner hosted by Pakistans High Commissioner Ms Seema Elahi Baluch. PIA Managing Director Captain Nadeem Yusufzai and Director Marketing PIA Imraan Ahmed Khan, who arrived here by PIAs inaugural flight from Karachi also attended. Seema Elahi organised week-long festivity in which PIA is also participating. It would further strengthen the bonds of friendship between two countries and would bring people of both nations closer. In brief remarks, Ms Seema Elahi thanked Sri Lankas First Lady for inaugurating Pakistan Week and attending Qawwali. She said recent visit of President Asif Ali Zardari to Sri Lanka has given further impetus to the High Commissions endeavours to bring Pakistan closer to the hearts and minds of Sri Lankan people.
