LAHORE – If Industrial Relation Ordinance (IRO) was not revised in mid of next month National Industrial Relation Commissions and 255 industrial trade unions in different departments would lose their entity, said chairman Insaf Worker Union Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Chaudhary Sanaullah Zia while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday.

He said that IRO was revised in November 2011 for four months and its validity would end on March 15, 2012.

Among other office bearers Senior Vice Chairman, Rana Ijaz, Senior Vice President, Ch Akram, Secretary General, Waqar-ul-Hassan, Secretary Out station, Amir Afzal Bajwa and president PTI, Labour Wing Zubair Khan were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion Ch Sana said that Prime Minister had announced 15 percent increase in the salaries of all employees which was not being given to the CAA employees while it was implemented in all the departments across the country. He demanded the CAA authorities to implement the same in CAA also.

He said that recently confirmed more than 4,000 employees of CAA from daily wages were not upgraded in line with their qualification. He said that more than 1,000 employees were highly qualified and they deserve to be promoted to the next grade.

He was of the view that so far all the employees, awarded with confirmed status in CAA, were being treated as group I employees. It is worth mentioning here that said employees were confirmed on October 18, 2009 on the direction of Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Sana further said that Insaf Workers Union of CAA was the first ever registered union of CAA. Air Traffic Staff of CAA was already performing as ‘go by book’ only to get their demands accepted by the CAA authorities.
