14 including four women perish in separate mishaps

HAFIZABAD/MINCHINABAD/KOT RADHA KISHAN/TOBA TEK SINGH/ SHEIKHUPURA/SIALKOT/JHANG/SARGODHA - At least 14 persons including four women were killed and seven others injured in separate incidents of enmity and road accidents over the past 24 hours. As per detail, in Hafizabad two men were killed while four others injured in a road accident near Madina Chowk on Nowshera Road here the other day.  According to Rescue sources, Fayyaz Ahmad, his son Faizul Hassan, residents of Nowshera Virkan, and Ghulam Muhammad, a resident of Bhoon Kalan, were on the way to the suburban village.
Meanwhile, a car driven by Jamshed of Phalia coming from the opposite direction collided with their motorcycle. As a result, Fayyaz Ahmad and his son Faizul Hassan died on the spot while Ghulam Muhammad, Jamshed and two others sustained injuries. The injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital by rescuers.
In KOT RADHA KISHAN, two men were crushed to death by a speeding vehicle on Multan Road near Miankey Morr in the remit of Phoolnagar Saddr Police. According to police, Muhammad Shahid along with his friend Umar Farooq was on the way to home from duty in a factory. When they reached near Miankey Morr, a speeding truck hit the motorcycle, killing both of them on the spot.
However, the driver fled the scene.
The Phoolnagar Saddr Police have registered a case. In another incident a couple was killed in an accident occurred due to fog on Shalla-Pattoki Road near village Sheikhum in the Sarai Mughal Police precincts. Reportedly, a passenger van was on the way to Pattoki. When it reached near village Sheikhum, it collided with a tractor-trolley due to fog.
As a result, Muhammad Nazir and his wife Shama Bibi died on the spot while other passengers received minor injuries.
In TOBA TEK SINGH, a man was killed outside his house by unidentified culprits in Chak 99/JB Gojra. According to the Gojra Police, three unidentified culprits reached the house of Muhammad Nasir and knocked at his door. When he came out they opened fire on him, injuring him critically. He was taken to hospital but he succumbed to his wounds on the way.
The police arrested some suspects from the village for investigation.
Meanwhile, in MINCHINABAD, a woman died after gulping rat poison mistakenly here the other day. According to details, 25-year-old Ulfat Tahra, mother of two, had been suffering stomachache for the past two year. In a tragic mix up, she accidentally consumed rat poison that was kept next to her medicines.  She was rushed the THQ hospital where she died.  However, source told The Nation that the women committed suicide over domestic dispute.
Similarly in SHEIKHUPURA, two people were killed in separate road mishaps due to heavy fog in different parts of the district in the wee hours of Thursday.
The first incident which took place in Burj Attari in the limit of Tehsil Sharqpur where Nazeer, 20, riding a bike lost his life after being hit by a speeding vehicle. While a youth identified as Allah Ditta was crushed to death by an unidentified vehicle near Kala Shah Kaku Interchange due to foggy weather.
In another incident a youth sustained critical gunshot wounds when he attempted to shoot himself over a family dispute here on Thursday. According to details, Javed, a resident of village Chapaan Wali had some domestic dispute with his family. In the meantime he ran into argument with his family at which he infuriated and shot himself. He was removed to DHQ Hospital and later he was shifted to Lahore in precarious condition. The police started investigation into the incident.
In SIALKOT, a Rehmanpura-Pasrur based local trader Ahmed's minor son Hassan and his grandmother Sughra Bibi were killed in a fatal collision between two motorcycles near village Murshadabad along Sialkot-Pasrur Road here on Thursday.
Reportedly, the trader was on the way back home on a motorcycle along with his wife Zubaida, his mother Sughra Bibi and his infant son Hassan, when a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction collided with the bike due to dense fog. Resultantly, both the infant child and his grandmother Sughra Bibi were killed on the spot. While trade Ahmed and his wife Zubaida sustained serious injuries and were shifted to Pasrur THQ Hospital. The Pasrur Saddr Police are investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, in JHANG - a retired PTCL employee was electrocuted. Mumtaz Mallah, a resident of Darul Sakina Road went to rooftop of his house where he accidently touched main transmission of electricity passing over the house. Resultantly he sustained severe shocks and died instantly.
In another incident three armed dacoits injured a salesman of a cigarette company. According to available details, Ghulam Shabir and his companion were returning home in a van. When they reached near Machiwal Adda three unknown armed dacoits stopped them and snatched Rs20,000 from them. However the culprits shot at and critically injured Ghulam Shabir when he put up resistance. On information the Kot Shakir police reached the scene and managed to chase one of the culprits identified as Ramzan, a resident of Adda Sadho and recovered a pistol from him while two others succeeded in escaping from the scene.
Similarly, a 9th class student injured his mother over a petty family issue. Waseen, a resident of Basti Syed Abad in Mauza Wasoo Astan situated in the remit of Atharan Hazari Police opened fire on his mother, injuring her critically. She was referred to Allied Hospital Faisalabad in serious condition.
In SARGODHA, a girl was killed in a road accident in the remit of Bhagtanwala Police on Thursday. Police said that 15-year-old Farzana along with her cousin Muhammad Ali, a resident of Chak 24/SB was riding a motorcycle when she fell on the road. She received fatal injuries and was shifted to THQ hospital in precarious condition where she died.
