PESHAWAR - Member Awami National Party Barrister Baachaa has strongly criticised the statement of Interior Minister Rehman Malik in the Senate wherein he had confessed that Taliban were not behind every incident of terrorism in the country and that in fact Lashkar-i-Jhangvi was responsible for 80 per cent of terror attacks and that the headquarters of Lashkar-i-Jhangvi was located in Punjab.
Posing a question to the federal government and the Interior Minister, he asked that after Rehman Malik’s confession what justification was there for the state terrorism unleashed in the tribal areas of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and that why were innocent and patriotic Pakistani Pushtuns being slaughtered in the name of war against terrorism, driven out of their houses and forced to live in refugee camps.
He went on to say that if, according to Rehman Malik, the base of terrorists was in Punjab then by all logic and reasons those bases in Punjab should be the target of Pakistan army guns, the fighter aircrafts incessant strikes and drone attacks, leaving Pashtuns alone to live in peace in their lands.
Barrister Baachaa said that Rehman Malik’s statement had confirmed the doubts about holding peace conferences to open dialogues with Taliban.
He said that for initiating a process of peace in the country there should be a constructive dialogue with those groups that, according to Rehman Malik, were actually involved in the acts of terrorism in Pakistan.
