QUETTA – An Additional and Sessions court on Thursday acquitted Jamhoori Watan Party leader Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti in illegal weapons case.
Shahzain was arrested along with his companions at Bulali check post on December 22, 2010 by Frontier Corps which had claimed to have seized heavy cache of weapons from Shahzain’s fleet. Additional and Sessions Court - V Judge Nurooz Hoth acquitted Shahzain and his companions after no charges were proved against them.
Talking to media, Shahzain said he was implicated in a fabricated case. He said he would go to Dera Bugti and take part in elections, as it was his democratic right. Shahzain said they have been accused of being agents of foreign hands, but in actual, they can’t even think of doing so. He said the people, who had migrated from Dera Bugti due to military operation, should be rehabilitated in their areas, so that they could use their right to vote.
