ISLAMABAD - Agencies - ARY Group Chairman Haji Abdul Razzaq Yaqub passed away after a protracted illness on Friday. He was 69.

President Mumnoon Hussain‚ Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid have condoled the death of Haji Abdul Razzaq Yaqub.

They termed the death of Abdul Razzaq as a great loss to the country.

They said that the services rendered by the deceased for the cause of journalism will be remembered. The vacuum his death has created will not be filled, they added.

Staff Reporter from Lahore adds: Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Syed Fasih Iqbal, senior journalist, former President APNS and CPNE and Editor-in-Chief Balochistan Times and daily Zamana.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister paid rich tributes to the services of Syed Fasih Iqbal in the field of journalism and prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with fortitude.

Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has expressed deep sense of sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Haji Abdul Razzaq Yaqub, founder of ARY Group.

In a condolence message, the Chief Minister said that Haji Abdul Razzaq Yaqub was a kindhearted and human friendly person and his services in the fields of social welfare and journalism would be remembered for a long time.
