HAFIZABAD

A retired DSP has protested against the “inhuman” attitude of the district accounts officer, and called upon the higher authorities and Provincial Ombudsman to take stern action against the officer.

In his complaint to the higher authorities Khadim Ali Bhindar said that he visited the District Accounts Office, Hafizabad for the issuance of cheque regarding the payment of his pension and other arrears but the DAO abused him and ordered him to get out from his office. He demanded action against him and early payment of his pension and arrears.

RAIN: Hafizabad City and different villages of the district were lashed by hailstorm, thunder and rain. According to agricultural experts, the rain would be very beneficial for wheat crop and fodders. However, the hailstorm would minimise the yield of gram crop. The rain has made the weather pleasant yet all the low lying localities were inundated by rainwater causing multiple problems for the dwellers. The sewerage system, as usual, remained choked and open drains overflowed creating problems for the pedestrians. The citizens have called upon the TMA to ensure improvement in the sewerage system.
