LAHORE: Punjab Acting Governor and Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal has said that the whole nation including armed forces, political and religious parties are on the same page in war against terror, and, with the concerted efforts of all, this evil will soon be wiped out.

Addressing the 13th convocation of College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM) here on Saturday, Rana Iqbal appreciated the progressive role of COTHM in tourism and hotel management. He said that the federal as well as the provincial governments were realising the importance of these sectors.

COTHM CEO Ahmed Shafiq, CEO (Designing) Masood Ali, Government College University Vice-Chancellor Khaliqur Rehman, PML-N City President Pervez Malik, Shahid Qadir, Irshad B Anjam and a lot number of students and teachers were present on this occasion.

Rana Muhammad Iqbal also gave away certificates to 150 students who completed their courses in hotel management, chef and tourism disciplines. “These are talented and promising students having ability to bring progressive changes in the fields of hotel management and tourism and it is up to them how they would utilise their talents to make Pakistan a prosperous country,” he added.–Staff Reporter

He said that it was the responsibility of the government to provide basic resources for the development of tourism and hotel management sectors, adding that the PML-N led government was taking all steps for bringing marked improvement in these sectors.

Ahmed Shafiq said that COTHM was training the students in tourism and hotel management sectors and as many as 10,000 students got graduation in different disciplines during the last 12 years. “These students are rendering their services in their respective fields after completing their graduation from COTHM”, he said.
