Commissioner Multan Division Asad Ullah Khan disclosed on Saturday that work on 184 development schemes worth Rs21.15 billion was underway in the division.

Addressing a meeting here at his office, he added that the schemes were launched under Punjab Annual Development Programme 2014-15 and 61 schemes were new while 123 were old. He further revealed that the inner and outer ring road projects of Multan had been sent to the planning commission after approval from the Chief Minister. He told the meeting that the inner ring road was 32 kilometre long and 10 kilometre was already constructed while the remaining 22 kilometre will be laid at an estimated cost of Rs22 billion. Similarly, the outer ring road is 64 kilometre long out of which 43 kilometre is constructed while the remaining 20 kilometre will be accomplished with a spending of Rs18 billion.

The Commissioner disclosed that 41 per cent work of 80 schemes of Multan was done while 74pc of 39 Khanewal schemes, 67pc of 44 Vehari schemes and 73pc of 25 Lodhran schemes was also done.

Gepco cuts TMA’s electricity

Gepco has again disconnected the electricity connection of Tehsil Municipal Administration Sialkot due to the prolonged non-payment of Rs80 million.

Gepco officials said that the TMA had been a big defaulter of Rs80 million and it remained failed to clear its outstanding dues due to which it had disconnected the TMA’s electricity.
