ISLAMABAD - Huzafia Abdul Rehman (Pak), Suresh Darrshan (Mas), Saqib Hayat (Pak) and Cheng Wei Chen (Tpe) Wednesday advanced into the semi finals of Boy’s Singles of Syed Tajammul Abbas ITF Pakistan World Junior Ranking Tennis Championships here at PTF Tennis Complex.
Huzafia made the major upset of the tournament when he stunned top seed Ahmed Zyaan (Gbr) in straight sets 6-2, 6-2, the match lasted 1 hrs 26 minutes. Saqib also caused another upset of the tournament when he eliminated 4th seed Rattanan Siritaworchar (Tha) in a thrilling and entertaining three set match.
In the Girls event Maheen Qureshi of Pakistan, Yu-Yun-Li (Tpe) Bilgic Sedef (Tur) Mert Aysegul (Tur) qualified for the semi final by winning their respective matches in straight set.
Maheen Qureshi (Pak) will face Bilgic Sedef (Tur) and Mert Aysegul (Tur) will face Yu-Yun Li (Tpe) in semi finals on Thursday. Maheen Qureshi (Pak) & Yu-Yun-Li (Tpe) and Aksu Semra (Tur) and Bilgic Sedef (Tur) qualified for the Girls Doubles final.

Boy’s Doubles Quarter finals: Mathew Yee (Hkg) & Muhammad Nouman Aftab (Pak) beat Muhammad Shoaib (Pak) & Saqib Hayat (Pak) 7-5, 3-6, 10-8; Rattanan Siritaworchar (Tha) & Suresh Darrshan (Mas) beat Ahmed Asjad Qureshi (Pak) & Huzafia Abdul Rehman (Pak) 7-5, 6-1; Chang Cameron Austin (Usa) & Cheng Hsuni Lui (Tpe) w/o Ahmed Zayyan (Gbr) & Athav Neema (Ind); Cheng Wei Chen (Tpe) & Chou Wen Yi (Tpe) w/o Michael Chung Tinchan (Hkg) & Ghouse Faisal (Can).
